This is a nice example of a maker-marked Silver wound badge (Verwundeten Abzeichen in Silber) that comes in its original red/burgundy carton box of issue. With the outbreak of World War 2, on September 1st 1939, Hitler re-instituted a slightly modified version of the wound badge by altering the WWI pattern helmet on the badge to the newly designed M35 style helmet. The badge was awarded to both military and uniformed non-military personnel and later, (March 1943), to civilian personnel who received wounds as a result of enemy actions. The badge is a nice Buntmetall piece and is maker marked with '4' and produced by 'Steinhauer & Lück' in Lüdenscheid. Of course are the pin and catch fully functional. The box is in fair, only slightly used condition, with the box is a COA of Detlev Niemann. Nice example! Dit is een mooi origineel Verwundeten Abzeichen in Silber (zilver) met originele rood/bordeaux kleurige doosje. Met de uitbraak van de Tweede Wereldoorlog, op 1 september 1939, werd door Hitler het Verwundeten Abz. opnieuw ingesteld. Een aangepaste versie van het Eerste Wereldoorlog model, het oude type helm werd vervangen door het nieuwe Model 1935 type. De medaille werd uigereikt aan al het militaire personeel en later (vanaf maart 1943) ook aan burgers die gewond raakten als gevolg van vijandelijke acties. De naald en haak zijn nog intact. De medaille is van Buntmetall en mooi gemarkeerd met '4', geproduceerd bij 'Steinhauer & Lück' in Lüdenscheid. Het doosje is in een erg goede licht gebruikte staat, bij het doosje is een certificaat van echtheid aanwezig van Detlev Niemann. Mooi origineel exemplaar in topstaat!
