Major Infantry HBT Tunic 1944

Major Infantry HBT (Drillich) Tunic. The Drill Uniform was introduced on 1 april 1933, to be used instead of the Reichswehr drill tunic. The official German term was 'Drilchanzug' and was soon replaced by the common term 'Drillich', a stron fabric cotton herringbone twill (HBT). These uniforms were worn for drill duties and combat training. in 1940 the color was altered to reed-green (Schilfgrün), a later version with shoulderstraps and pockets was used as a summer field dress uniform by officers, by order HV 40B No. 128 of 12 february 1940. In early 1942 a reed-green jacket with pockets was introduced. Identical to the field blouse, with collar tab's, shoulder straps, breasteagle and rankinsignia. Example with pockets without pleats and detachable buttons. Re-aplied insignia. Example produced in 1944, nice combat worn condition!
