Model 1941 German Horse Leggings

Model 1941 German Horse Leggings, anti-gas. Throughout world war 2, horse drawn transport remained an important part of the German military supply organization. The horse leggings were used to protect the lower part of the leg while on contaminated ground. The front leg covers are designed to be shorter than the hind covers. The leggings are sleeve like shaped in a grey/green rubberized fabric with a reinforced fabric covered elastic to keep the legging snug. The top has a reinforced rubber wall with maker mark 'aqd' and '41/43', aqd is the maker code for the firm 'Radium-Gummiwerke mbH' in Köln-Dellbrück. Pair of front leggings in used but nice condition!

Model 1941 Duitse Paarden anti-gas leggings. Gedurende de Tweede Wereldoorlog waren en bleven paarden van grote waarde voor de Duitse transporten. Om de paarden te beschermen wanneer ze door een met gas besmet gebied liepen waren er leggings voor de onderbenen. De leggings voor de voorste benen zijn korter dan die voor de achterste. De leggings zijn gemaakt van een verrubberd grijs/groene stof met een elastieke band om de leggings strak op de plek te houden. De bovenkant heeft een rubberen rand met daarop de maker 'aqd' en '41/43', aqd is de maker 'Radium-Gummiwerke mbH' in Köln-Dellbrück. Paar leggings voor de voorbenen in goede gebruikte staat!
