Document Group 'Paul Fromm' - Brandis

Nice little document group from Luftwaffe soldier: 'Paul Fromm' - Active at the 'Brandis' Airfield. 2nd Pattern Arbeitsbuch issued by the 'Arbeitsamt Grimma - Nebenstelle Wurzen'. Paul being a LW member was working at for the 'Fliegerhorstkommandantur Brandis', from 3 april 1939 untill 18 march 1942 as a 'schmied' (smith) and from 18 march 1942 untill 15 april 1945 as an aircraft engine mechanic.
The airfield 'Brandis-Waldpolenz' was used as an aircraft testing ground. There were tests with the 'Sack AS-6', wing only airplaine (Nurflügelflugzeugs). In the summer of 1944 the '1. Jagdgeschwader 400' was stationed at Brandis airport, this unit was flying with the 'Raketenjäger Messerschmitt Me 163', with rocket propulsion. The Me 163 'Komet' was the fastest serie produced airplane during ww2 with a top speed of 960 km/h, the JG 400 was the first rocket fighter squadron in the world.
The 'Wehrmacht-Führerschein' from Paul Fromm is also in the grouping, together with a small period portret picture showing Paul in his Luftwaffe uniform. This driving license is dated 1944.
The last part of the grouping is a large 23 x 15 cms sized photograph showing the working people of the 'Flughafen Waldpolenz' (Brandis), a rare and very interesting photograph. The photograph is printed by 'A. Janke' in Wurzen. The photo has been censored by me, and the faded look was caused by taking a picture of it and will not be visible when in hands.
Very nice document grouping of one of the most interesting airfields!

Mooie kleine documenten groep van Luftwaffe soldaat 'Paul Fromm' - actief op het vliegveld 'Brandis'. 2e model 'Arbeitsbuch' uitgegeven aan Paul door het 'Arbeitsamt Grimma - Nebenstelle Wurzen'. Paul was een Luftwaffe soldaat welke werkzaam was voor het 'Fliegerhorstkommandantur Brandis', van 3 april 1939 tot 18 maart 1943 was hij werkzaam als 'schmied' (smit) en vanaf 18 maart 1942 tot 15 april 1945 was hij vliegtuigmotor mechaniker.
Het 'Brandis-Waldpolenz' vliegveld werd gebruikt als testlocatie. Hier werd getest met het 'Sack AS-6' alléén-vleugel vliegtuig (Nurflügelflugzeugs). In de zomer van 1944 werd het '1. Jagdgeschwader 400' op Brandis gestationeerd, deze eenheid vloog met de 'Raketenjäger Messerschmitt Me 163', met raketaandrijving. De Me 163 'Komet' was het snelste serie geproduceerde vliegtuig uit de tweede wereldoorlog met een topsnelheid van 960 km/h, het JG 400 was de eerste straaljager eenheid op de wereld.
Het 'Wehrmacht-Führerschein' van Paul Fromm is ook onderdeel van de groep, samen met een kleine originele portret foto waarop Paul te zien is in uniform. Het rijbewijs is 1944 gedateerd.
Het laatste onderdeel van de groep is een 23 x 15 cm grote foto waarop alle werknemers van de 'Flughafen Waldpolenz' (Brandis) te zien zijn, een zeldzame en interessante foto. De foto is ontwikkeld door 'A. Janke' in Wurzen. De foto is door mij gecensureerd en de verkleuring/vervaging is gekomen door het nemen van een foto van een foto en is op het origineel natuurlijk niet zo. Een perfecte foto.
Mooie zeldzame documenten groep van één van de meest interessante vliegvelden!
