Case for the WW1 Iron Cross 2nd Class

Description

Case for the World War 1 Iron Cross 2nd Class (Etui zum Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse). The Iron Cross was re-instituted by King Wilhelm II on 5 August 1914 for award during WWI. The second class cross was for award to personnel who performed a single act of bravery in combat. Recipients often bought privately purchased type presentation cases. This is a black coloured simulated leather presentation case, showing an image of an iron cross with the date '1914-16' on top of the lid. The date indicates that this is a wartime period case. The case is having a blue velvet inlay. The case is showing minor traces of usage and is in overall very good condition. Nice and decorative original case!
